An internet service disruption occurred on 04/02 @ 2:10 pm due a SNORT process crash on the SourceFire Modules in the firewall. We are working with the vendor on this issue and will update this maintenance item after the investigation.
Affected Applications: Internet traffic and VPN services.
A switch mostly servicing wireless access on the 6th Floor of Towers East began to have issues. Root cause is still under investigation. The issue was resolved with a code match and reload of switch. All services were fully restored by 12:55pm.
Impact: All network services directly terminated on switch 3 of the cluster (mostly 6th Floor).
A switch in the cluster reloaded. This switch has the uplinks to multiple floors. All internet access was unavailable during reload. All services were restored by 1:38pm. Root cause is under investigation.
From 8:05 am this morning to 8:18 am, a total data outage was experienced regarding any traffic outbound from the Marshall network. Technicians are going through possible configuration changes on the Adaptive Security Appliance, the edge firewall, to determine the cause of the outage.
